This map shows some of the areas across the UK that are taking successful steps towards treating drugs as a public health issue. Transform works with police, PCCs, councils, health, and treatment groups to deliver new cost-effective ways to deal with drug use. These are needed because the UK’s past 50 years of enforcement have only resulted in drugs being stronger, cheaper and more available, with record drug-related deaths and empowerment of organised crime groups.

This map, showing some examples of these innovative approaches, was last updated in February 2023.
